About The Position

Rite of Passage Team is hiring for a Maintenance Worker-Painter at Childhelp, Alice C. Tyler Village in Lignum, Virginia. Childhelp is a psychiatric residential treatment facility that specializes in the treatment of children aged 5-14 with mild to severe trauma or neglect, psychiatric disorders, and neurodevelopmental disorders. Our unique location on a 270-acre farm provides a nurturing treatment setting with a variety of therapy resources. We bring the light of love and healing into the lives of countless abused and neglected children, and those suffering from psychiatric and behavioral disorders. Requirements

Be at least 19 years of age
High School Diploma preferred
Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.

Responsibilities

Maintain the campus through painting and other maintenance activities, ensuring the grounds and facilities remain clean, attractive, and well maintained.
Perform work orders consistent with the individual’s ability.
General building maintenance
Changing light bulbs
Minor electrical repairs
Repairing drywall
Painting
Paneling
Wallpapering
Sheetrock work
Hanging doors
Adjusting locks and door hardware
Fixing or replacing broken windows and screens
Hanging pictures
Minor plumbing repairs
Unplugging drains
Maintaining smoke detectors and emergency lights
Replacing floor tiles, carpeting and linoleum
Repairing roofing
Grounds maintenance/irrigation if needed
