Maintenance Worker II
About The Position
Under general supervision, the Maintenance Worker II must be a self-starter and will be responsible for a variety of job duties including metal working (welding stainless steel, constructing sheet metal fabrications, and machining with manual machines like mill, lathe, and band saws). The role also involves servicing, maintaining, and repairing commercial/industrial HVAC air handling equipment, performing architectural work (renovations, painting, carpentry, building repairs), and preventive maintenance to building structures. Additionally, the position requires servicing and repairing commercial refrigeration equipment. The Maintenance Worker II will be required to respond promptly to various alarms, including equipment monitoring systems, HVAC alarms, and IT system alarms.
Requirements
- GED or high school diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years of directly-related maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated skills in general maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair a wide variety of maintenance problems.
- Ability to complete associated paperwork with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Highly motivated with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to learn department-specific computer systems as needed.
- Post-offer background check.
- Ability to gain and maintain access to Kirtland Air Force base (KAFB).
Nice To Haves
- Trades licenses/certifications; NM boiler operator (BO I/ II), EPA Universal certification, electrical, plumbing licenses, HVAC-R.
Responsibilities

- Respond in a timely fashion to a variety of alarms to include equipment monitoring systems, HVAC alarms, IT system alarms, and all other related types of notifications.
- Perform all other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.
