In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving a wide range of industrial equipment and facility systems to support safe and efficient operations. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED Required
  • Excellent work habits, including punctuality, attendance, and work ethic
  • Ability to work individually and with others to continually improve our company
  • Ability to read and follow specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, and measuring testing instruments
  • Standing, bending for the entire shift. Capable of lifting 50-70 lbs and frequently pushing and pulling bulky material and carts weighing up to 200 lbs
  • Willingness and ability to work overtime when asked by a supervisor/manager

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical knowledge and or training certificate or certification.
  • HVAC or plumbing experience

Responsibilities

  • Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments
  • Visually inspects and tests machinery & equipment, using electronic test equipment
  • Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions, discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance associates to diagnose problems or repair equipment
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
  • Cleans and lubricates bearings, gears, shafts and other parts of machinery
  • Installs and repairs electrical apparatus; transformers and wiring, along with electrical & electronic components of machinery equipment
  • Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
  • Repairs & replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment
  • Repairs or maintains some physical structure of the establishment if needed
  • May install machinery and equipment according to blueprints and other specifications
  • May install, program or repair automated machinery equipment, like robots or programmable controllers
  • May set up and operate machine tools, such as a lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine. To repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs fixtures and tools
  • Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
  • Fabricate repair counters, benches, partitions and other wooden structures
  • Perform other duties that may be assigned to support Merit Brass Co
