About The Position
The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Maintenance Trades Helper for the facilities engineering program to support a federal Agency. The Maintenance Trades Helper will perform general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
Requirements
- Practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in trades such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical work.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. of furniture.
Responsibilities
- Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors.
- Using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings.
- Repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets.
- Painting structures and equipment, tiles.
- Hanging doors and installing door locks.
- Replacing broken windowpanes.
- Performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
- Performing general maintenance on other projects as needed.
- Lifting 50 lbs. of furniture to assist in moving office furniture, couches, chairs, conference room assemblies, and miscellaneous items.
- Work is spot-checked for accuracy.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
