About The Position

Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. This role involves observing mechanical devices, diagnosing and repairing issues, and ensuring proper functioning of equipment. The technician will also be responsible for maintaining inventory records, initiating purchase orders, and working within budget constraints. Adherence to safety and quality procedures is paramount.

Requirements

  • One year certificate from college or technical school; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills.
  • Knowledge of and competence in the use of Inventory and Maintenance Related Software.
  • Must have own basic set of tools, to include, but not be limited to the following items: Wrenches & sockets, adjustable wrenches, pliers, nut drivers, screwdrivers and hammer.

Nice To Haves

  • PLC experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts and examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs or replaces defective parts and lubricates and cleans parts as needed in accordance with food/beverage manufacturing quality system practices.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices and starts devices to test their performance.
  • Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills and shares expertise with others.
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgment and includes appropriate people in decision-making process.
  • Works with Maintenance Manager to prioritize and plan work activities and completes work in timely manner.
  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
  • Works within approved budget and conserves organizational resources.
  • Follows policies and procedures and observes safety and security procedures.
  • Uses equipment and materials properly and reports potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Maintains inventory records and performs cycle counts as necessary.
