About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is a safety-sensitive role responsible for maintaining mechanical components in the manufacturing facility, with a primary focus on drives, pumps, motors, and plant automation. This position requires a proactive approach to housekeeping, adherence to safety practices, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes. The technician will prioritize plant repairs, respond to equipment failures, and interface with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure plant proficiency and performance. This is a full-time, night shift position.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes and routines.
  • Ability to interpret manufacturing requirements and translate into a series of tasks, operations and actions in order that production goals are met.
  • Excellent computer skills. Proficient in the use of Word and Excel.
  • Verifiable education or experience in an industrial setting.
  • Communication skills necessary to interact with internal and external service providers.
  • Ability to read/understand blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to stand, walk, squat, kneel, climb (with or without a ladder) and sit over a ten-to-twelve-hour shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in extreme conditions for limited amounts of time.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for housekeeping of immediate work areas to assist in maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Follow all safe work practices and use all applicable PPE.
  • Practice continuous improvement.
  • Understand and comply with internal and external customer expectations.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for all mechanical components in the manufacturing facility.
  • Prioritize plant repairs and respond to equipment failures.
  • Interface with Process / Equipment Engineering and manufacturing to ensure plant proficiency.
  • Communicate repair priorities, changes, and technical updates needed or delivered.
  • Follow up and monitor repairs to verify progress and to determine results.
  • Develop working relationships with equipment vendors, production departments and support services to ensure overall plant performance.
  • Operate and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Perform on-the-job training and certification of power industrial trucks, forklifts, overhead cranes, and various other powered equipment.
