About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment in support of the facility. In this role, the technician will work with a variety of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems and controls. Strong logical-thinking and troubleshooting skills are critical. This position is critical to the safe and efficient operation of the Melrose cheese manufacturing facility.

Requirements

1+ years experience
Prior experience in a maintenance role at a manufacturing environment
Ensuring the complete safety of oneself and one’s co-workers at all times
Knowledge of equipment for proper performance and to detect faults and malfunctions, and to make proper repairs
Familiarity with performing regular maintenance, possibly including corrections and alterations, on a machine or piece of equipment to ensure it remains in production
Arriving on time, reliably completing tasks by the deadline, and adapting to changes in deadlines and priorities with minimal supervision.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions and possess basic mathematical skills
Working well with others to meet team goals and adjusting to important changes

Responsibilities

Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions
Troubleshoot, repair and maintain plant processing equipment.
Address errors that occur with machines and makes determination of repairs needed.
