About The Position

The Maintenance Technician provides on-site support and technical assistance with various mechanical products, equipment, and systems. This role is responsible for maximizing the uptime of manufacturing machinery, equipment, and facilities through proactive tracking, inspection, servicing, maintaining, and calibrating to prevent potential breakdowns. The technician will exercise a high level of independent decision-making to perform complex troubleshooting, installation, design, modification, fabrication, repair, assembly, calibration, moving, alignment, rebuilding, testing, and inspections on a broad range of complex tools, equipment, and facilities, including electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronics, PLC, computer controls, robotics, automation, machinery, motors, and controls. The position also involves installing new equipment or upgrades, providing routine maintenance to ensure function and uptime, developing detailed service reports to document service visits, issues, and troubleshooting actions, and logging and tracking maintenance activities. The technician will work independently within established procedures and utilize computerized software to record, track, and analyze data, and write reports and communications. The role requires the ability to easily and effectively utilize specialized measurement instruments, written and computer-accessed work orders, schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, manufacturers' and Company equipment manuals and procedures to effectively draft, communicate, and recommend improvements, establish effective preventative maintenance procedures, diagnose problems, and recommend future repairs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 2 years of work experience preferably in a machining environment.
  • May require successful completion of specific education, training or certifications.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy, precision and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. when necessary.
  • Ability to manually lift and move product and materials up to 50 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reach forward, reach overhead, lift, carry, crouch, and bend.
  • Ability to power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools and/or steering fork truck.
  • Ability to walk, sit, or stand for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaks.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to see, inspect, handle and evaluate product quality.
  • Ability to read and understand written English language work instructions.
  • Ability to work in non-climate controlled environments, including hot and humid conditions.
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs of varying heights.
  • Ability to wear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by LSI (Protective Footwear, Hearing Protection, Protective Eyewear, Gloves).

Responsibilities
