About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing all maintenance assignments in a timely manner, assisting outside vendors, providing emergency response to campus equipment and systems, completing required inspections, and working with various agencies regarding codes and inspections.

Requirements

  • Two years education and/or experience in maintenance, preferably residential property management.
  • Skills in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, appliances, doors & windows.
  • Ability to motivate oneself and work independently.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to relate to the elderly in a patient, compassionate and courteous manner.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English.

Nice To Haves

  • Boiler License helpful

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining all mechanical equipment, emergency systems, building fixtures and groundwork as needed.
  • Complete all work orders quickly and efficiently.
  • Report any problems/deficiencies to the Director of Maintenance.
  • Knowledgeable of building codes and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Interacts positively with all team members in maintaining census by immediately completing apartment turns.
  • Maintain the grounds; trash, sweep, dumpster areas, snowplow, etc.
  • Test the resident security systems as required.
  • Assist with custodial duties which include but not limited to; trash removal, carpet cleaning, etc.
  • Perform any maintenance task necessary as directed.
