About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing all maintenance assignments in a timely manner, assisting outside vendors, providing oversight and emergency response to campus equipment and systems, completing required inspections, and working with various agencies regarding codes and inspections. This role also involves assisting in maintaining mechanical equipment, emergency systems, building fixtures, and groundwork, completing work orders efficiently, reporting deficiencies, and maintaining grounds and assisting with custodial duties.

Requirements

  • Two years education and/or experience in maintenance, preferably residential property management.
  • Skills in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, appliances, doors & windows.
  • Ability to motivate oneself and work independently.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Ability to relate to the elderly in a patient, compassionate and courteous manner.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Able to read, write, spell, do basic math, speak and understand English.

Nice To Haves

  • Boiler License helpful

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining all mechanical equipment, emergency systems, building fixtures and groundwork as needed.
  • Complete all work orders quickly and efficiently.
  • Report any problems/deficiencies to the Director of Maintenance.
  • Maintain the grounds; trash, sweep, dumpster areas, snowplow, etc.
  • Test the resident security systems as required.
  • Assist with custodial duties which include but not limited to; trash removal, carpet cleaning, etc.
  • Perform any maintenance task necessary as directed.
