About The Position

Under general supervision and in conformance with plant policies and procedures, perform hands-on mechanical and electrical systems repair, maintenance, reprogramming and installation to production equipment and support systems in a leaded manufacturing facility.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Must have at least 4 years previous experience with machine maintenance and repair in a manufacturing environment
Strong working knowledge of machine shop tools including micrometer, veneer calipers, dial and depth indicator micrometers, and hand tools
Must have a learner mentality – willing to increase scope and knowledge of the position
Strong team player
Ability to work in a heavy manufacturing, leaded environment requiring PPE to include respirators

Responsibilities

Complete PM activities in the online work order management system.
Diagnose problems, repair, adjust and maintain production equipment and machinery to ensure reliability and efficient day-to-day operations.
Work with shift supervisors, lead operators and machine operators to test and inspect grid regularly, and identify issues affecting quality and production.
Make periodic checks of machines and equipment and perform preventive maintenance to avoid unexpected downtime.
Troubleshoot and repair general mechanical and electrical components and equipment.
Collaborate with external vendors in the repair and servicing of production equipment.
Work well under pressure to repair equipment quickly.
Read and understand electrical, equipment manuals, pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings.
Work with High Performance teams for continuous improvements.
Keep work areas clean and orderly following 5S procedures.
Strictly adhere to all plant safety rules.
Take active part in group meetings to maintain safety, quality, and increase productivity and morale.
Respond to afterhours maintenance calls and come in as needed on an “on call” basis.
