About The Position

The Maintenance Engineer Class 2 contributes to the Guest Satisfaction Policy of the hotel by ensuring that guest rooms, public areas, and hotel facilities remain in excellent working order through a strong preventive maintenance program. This position is responsible for performing repairs and maintenance related to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and general building upkeep.

Requirements

Thorough knowledge of hand tools and carpentry tools.
Ability to repair basic electrical and plumbing systems.
Experience with drywall repairs, painting, room locking mechanisms, HVAC vents, and general maintenance work.
Ability to accurately determine materials and supplies necessary for assigned work.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with other maintenance associates, hotel departments, and guests.
Must maintain a flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Fluent in English, including speaking, reading, and writing.

Nice To Haves

Hospitality maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Inspect, maintain, and repair electrical systems, including televisions, lighting fixtures, switches, and outlets.
Maintain HVAC units to ensure they are clean, operating efficiently, and providing guest comfort.
Troubleshoot and repair general plumbing systems, including toilets, sinks, faucets, and bathtubs.
Perform drywall patching, painting, carpentry, and other general maintenance repairs.
Repair and maintain room locking mechanisms, AC vents, and other guest room components.
Assess materials needed to complete assigned projects and repairs.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel departments.
Follow all safety procedures and maintenance standards.
Assist with preventive maintenance initiatives throughout the property.
Perform incidental duties and special projects as assigned.
