About The Position

This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and skilled repairs on complex production equipment and systems. The role involves following standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness, performing equipment failure analysis, and troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment problems. The technician will log equipment modifications and maintenance details, adhere to all safety procedures, and work independently within established procedures. Proficiency in multiple job-relevant competencies is expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years of experience in a high-speed packaging or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Formal training in one or more of the following: air conditioning, welding, machining, auto repair, electronics, or industrial mechanics.
  • Vocational training or technical certifications accepted in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment, such as conveyor systems and production equipment, using hand, power tools, and precision measuring equipment, in accordance with operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications.
  • Performs scheduled inspections and basic preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems.
  • Diagnoses and repairs minor mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues.
  • Assists in troubleshooting equipment malfunctions under supervision.
  • Maintains cleanliness and safety of work areas.
  • Ensures tools and equipment are properly stored and in working condition.
  • Follows all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Reports hazards, unsafe conditions, and equipment issues promptly.
  • Completes maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection reports accurately.
  • Assists higher-level technicians with complex repairs and installations.
  • Learns and applies new skills through on-the-job training.
  • Responds to basic maintenance calls and emergencies as directed.
  • Attends company scheduled training classes.
  • Complies with company and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
  • Collaborates with production and support departments to ensure food safety and product quality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
