About The Position
AIR Communities is hiring a Maintenance Technician for its Bay apartment community in San Diego, California. Maintenance Technicians help create an exceptional resident experience by preparing apartments for new move-ins, responding to service requests, completing repairs, and maintaining the community. The role involves working across building systems and providing professional, high-quality service to residents and teammates. Technicians participate in an on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergency maintenance requests. The position offers an hourly rate of $25–$28, plus a 15% target bonus opportunity and potential monthly customer service satisfaction bonuses of up to $250. Requirements
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience.
- Proficient skills in at least two technical trades, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, or carpentry.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
- Reliable transportation to respond to emergency service requests while on call.
- Ability to safely lift and move tools, equipment, and maintenance materials.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Detail-oriented problem solver who takes pride in fixing things right the first time.

- Comfortable using technology to manage work orders and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Responsibilities
- Complete apartment turns to prepare homes for new residents.
- Respond to resident service requests and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, and other building systems.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues and complete repairs efficiently and professionally.
- Perform preventative maintenance to maintain the appearance, safety, and operation of the community.
- Assist with move-in and move-out inspections as needed.
- Help maintain organized shops, tools, and work areas.
- Provide outstanding customer service to residents and team members.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergency maintenance requests.
