About The Position

The Maintenance Technician will support the Maintenance Work Process and adhere to Lanxess Environmental, Health, and Safety policies. This role involves a variety of hands-on tasks related to the maintenance and repair of process equipment in a chemical petrochemical industry setting.

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Two (2) years or more mechanical experience in a chemical petrochemical industry a plus
• Ability to demonstrate precision repair and rebuild of rotating equipment, laser alignment, pipe fitting and valve repair
• Must have excellent communication skills (written, oral and comprehension)
• Computer skills a plus
• Must be willing to work scheduled / unscheduled overtime, call-outs, and week-end / holiday coverage as required
• Successful candidate must complete Maintenance Training Course, (10 volumes, TPC training material) per established schedule
• Must have a willingness to learn and work in an ever changing environment
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
• Must have a valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Adherence to and support of Lanxess Environmental, Health, and Safety policies
• Support of the Maintenance Work Process
• Cutting, welding, steel fabrication, and pipe fitting
• Maintenance of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, gearboxes, air / gas compressors, blowers, glass, and glass lined steel equipment and hydraulic systems, tanks and pressure vessel, mechanical seals and all other process equipment
• Alignment of rotating equipment
• Troubleshooting equipment failures
• Record keeping
