About The Position

Leidos’ Defense Systems / Manufacturing is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Mechanical Manufacturing team in Huntsville, Alabama. Daily job tasks consist of performing preventative Maintenance on Milling machines and lathes utilizing Fanuc and Siemens controls. Job requires knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel to track weekly tasks performed on equipment. Requirements

High School diploma/GED with at least one year of prior experience in maintenance on CNC Mill, Lathes and Electron Beam Welding.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Candidates must have the ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted.
Candidate must be able to work overtime when required.
Applicant must be able to work a full-time, 4-days per week 10-hours per shift, 1st shift.
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel to track weekly tasks performed on equipment.

Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting/problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain daily/weekly Oil and coolant levels in CNC Mill, Lathes and Electron Beam Welders.
Perform preventive maintenance to reduce machine breakdowns.
Log maintenance work and report issues to senior technicians or supervisors.
Help repair mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic systems on CNC lathes, mills, grinders, etc.
