About The Position

The Krusteaz Company is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join the Effingham team on our 2nd shift! The ideal candidate will possess a broad skill set to identify and resolve causes of mechanical downtime and identify opportunities for improvement in the production process. The strongest candidates will possess electrical, mechanical and PLC aptitudes.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to communicate in English with team members and supervisors through various channels, including radio, email and in-person interactions.
Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds regularly.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, often for the entire duration of the shift.
Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to clean various equipment and facility areas.
Must have good manual dexterity to handle and operate cleaning equipment and tools.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders as needed to reach high areas and equipment.
Must be able to push and pull heavy cleaning equipment and carts.

Nice To Haves

Food manufacturing experience is desired and a plus.
Exposure to PLC, SLC 500/PLC5/RS Logics/Device Net preferred.
Exposure to AC and DC motors, VFD and VSD drive experience preferred.
Relevant trade or technical school training preferred.

Responsibilities

Supporting production by bringing equipment to base condition through a variety of Industrial Maintenance functions.
Interpreting blueprints, fabricating metal, performing plumbing, pneumatic and millwright activities and displaying an understanding of motors and drives.
Collaborating with production staff to enhance the reliability of production equipment, and completion of repair tasks in a manner that minimizes reactive downtime.
Problem solving and troubleshooting, operating computerized systems, maintenance software and hand-held devices, attending meetings and completing paperwork.
Using a PC for communication, parts research, and maintenance system purposes which includes purchasing parts as needed.
Following specific maintenance procedures concerning PM’s, schedules, and documentation requirements.
Communicating effectively with all levels of the organization and representing The Krusteaz Company to outside contacts in a professional manner.
Climbing ladders and lifting/pushing/pulling using proper techniques up to 60 pounds.
Working in areas with limited space and restricted mobility.
Working at elevated heights (up to 45 feet) safely while operating a scissor lift or articulating boom lifts.
Confronting issues by focusing on solutions that satisfy both internal and external customers.
Passing mechanical and electrical aptitude and knowledge tests.
