About The Position

This role is crucial for maintaining the operational integrity and safety of healthcare facilities. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring that hospitals, clinics, and medical offices are in excellent condition for patients and staff. The position involves performing preventative and corrective maintenance, keeping accreditation inspections and records up-to-date, and working within a collaborative and supportive environment with opportunities for growth. Banner Casa Grande Medical Center, established in 1984, is a full-service, non-profit hospital providing quality, compassionate care with 141 private rooms and state-of-the-art equipment. The company also serves as a base station for medical direction to emergency medical service providers in Pinal County.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent with working knowledge of small project managing skills.
  • Two or more years of diversified work experience as a maintenance technician with demonstrated maintenance or related skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent decision-making and judgment.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively with maintenance equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding maintenance and construction documents.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge and certification as required of applicable regulatory codes, and State and local building codes.
  • Ability to work effectively with commonly used office software programs.
  • Valid driver's license and eligibility for coverage under the company auto insurance policy may be required depending on the facility/department.
  • Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card required for Banner Behavioral Health Hospital employees at the time of hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • Must sign an Arizona Criminal History Affidavit upon hire.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains, repairs, and corrects all building components as assigned, including fire alarm systems, beds, TVs, plumbing, medical gas outlets, nurse call systems, pneumatic tube systems, elevators, furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Provides first-line response to facility maintenance needs to ensure maximum operational effectiveness.
  • Works with other divisions and departments to meet facility maintenance, installation, and construction needs.
  • Recommends and oversees outside maintenance specialty contractors to ensure compliance with hospital standards.
  • Monitors maintenance repair work, alterations, and renovation upgrades to ensure the integrity of facility standards.
  • Maintains maintenance components, materials, and supplies within budgetary constraints.
  • Maintains records for facility compliance with all applicable authorities having jurisdiction, including local, state, and federal regulatory codes.
  • Attends annual code compliance and update training as required.
  • May perform duties related to security, groundskeeping, and snow removal depending on the location.
