About The Position

National Beef Packing of Liberal, Kansas is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its maintenance team. The role involves maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment, buildings, and machines in a food-processing facility. Candidates with prior food-production maintenance experience, electrical experience, or ammonia/refrigeration experience are encouraged to apply. Applicants with an interest in or training in tools and mechanical work who are willing to learn may be supported in becoming proficient in the role. This is a safety-sensitive, on-site position.

Requirements

Mechanical skills and understanding of basic machine functions.
Ability to use common tools such as hammers, saws, drills, and wrenches.
Basic computer skills.
Willingness to work and be on time when scheduled.
Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Exemplary safety record with a previous employer.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice To Haves

Ability to read, write, and speak English is preferred.
Experience with ammonia/refrigeration systems.
Electrical experience.
Food-processing experience.
General knowledge of plant layout and production-floor equipment and processes.

Responsibilities

Fix and maintain mechanical equipment, buildings, and machines.
Rebuild, repair, and/or replace equipment, machinery, and parts.
Perform preventative maintenance.
Install equipment, machinery, and parts.
Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems.
Create daily activity reports.
Collaborate with management and other departments about maintenance issues throughout the facility.
