About The Position

This role involves performing preventative maintenance, repair, installation, testing, and calibration of production and facilities equipment throughout the factory. The technician will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment problems down to the component level, conduct routine testing to ensure proper functioning, and collaborate with engineers and production personnel to optimize equipment uptime. Responsibilities also include maintaining records for equipment repair and preventive maintenance, scheduling maintenance procedures, and performing minor facility repairs such as plumbing and electrical work.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Technical AA degree in general engineering or equivalent industrial experience
  • 2+ years applicable experience in a manufacturing setting related to repair and maintenance of production and testing equipment
  • Experience using power tools, lifting, and measurement/diagnostic tools
  • Understanding of technical drawings and basic engineering principles for repairing and maintaining production equipment
  • Experience in mechanical and technical troubleshooting of equipment problems
  • Hands-on and direct approach to problems and production demands
  • Experience working as part of a team to perform testing, including data analysis for equipment performance
  • Experience with networked PC-based computer systems
  • Ability to anticipate and handle multiple priorities and complex/abstract issues under time constraints
  • Ability to identify required parts for repairs and locate suppliers
  • High accuracy and organization
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural, team-based environment

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment on time with no extensions.
  • Resolve maintenance scheduling conflicts without interrupting production capacity.
  • Obtain necessary parts and supplies prior to preventive maintenance due dates.
  • Communicate with production personnel for feedback on equipment performance and maintenance performed.
  • Seek assistance to complete tasks on time if problems arise.
  • Identify potential opportunities for better equipment utilization and report them to relevant personnel.
  • Review equipment maintenance history to update the maintenance schedule periodically.
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns.
  • Source and obtain spare parts for broken equipment as quickly as possible.
  • Perform hands-on repair and maintenance of equipment safely, with operator assistance.
  • Document repairs clearly in maintenance records.
  • Ensure quality repairs with no repeated failures of initially failed components.
  • Maintain maintenance shop facilities for the design and implementation of new production equipment.
  • Modify production equipment for safe operation and increased productivity.
  • Install new equipment, bring it into operation, and train operators.
  • Coordinate with external/internal suppliers to ensure equipment functionality and adequate spare parts inventory.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance records using a just-in-time practice.
  • Review and audit department processes for continuous improvement, cycle time, and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Ensure department processes are ISO9001 compliant.

  • Set high standards for quality and a safe work environment.
  • Keep personal and common work areas clean, neat, and organized daily.
  • Follow safety rules without violations and report any safety concerns or issues to the supervisor.

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of department information systems, records, reports, and metrics.
