About The Position

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments. This role involves visually inspecting and testing machinery, listening for unusual sounds to detect malfunctions, and discussing machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines. The technician will also be responsible for dismantling defective machines, installing new or repaired parts, and cleaning and lubricating machinery components. Additionally, the role includes installing and repairing electrical apparatus, laying out and maintaining pipe systems, repairing and maintaining the physical structure of the establishment, and installing, programming, or repairing automated machinery and equipment. Operating machine tools, cutting torch, welding equipment, and fabricating/repairing wooden structures are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Ability to install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems.
  • Proficiency in visually inspecting and testing machinery and equipment.
  • Skill in diagnosing machine malfunctions through listening and discussion.
  • Experience in dismantling defective machines and installing new or repaired parts.
  • Ability to clean and lubricate machinery components.
  • Experience in installing and repairing electrical apparatus, transformers, wiring, and electrical/electronic components.
  • Knowledge of laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
  • Ability to repair and replace gauges, valves, and pressure regulators.
  • Experience in repairing and maintaining the physical structure of an establishment.
  • Skill in installing, programming, or repairing automated machinery and equipment.
  • Proficiency in operating machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine.
  • Ability to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools.
  • Experience operating cutting torch or welding equipment.
  • Ability to fabricate and repair wooden structures.

Responsibilities

  • Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.

  • Lays out, assembles installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulations, and related equipment.
  • Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
  • Installs, programs or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions and other wooden structures.
