This role is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting all production line equipment within the department to prevent and/or correct mechanical and electrical breakdowns. The technician will cross-train on all lines in their area of responsibility, analyze equipment failures, and recommend/implement corrective actions. A key aspect of the role involves having knowledge of and performing special technical skills such as basic electrical troubleshooting, basic PLC skills, machining, and welding tasks. The position also involves leading efforts to develop component lists for rebuild kits, assemblies, and standby equipment, and participating in project meetings. The technician will troubleshoot, modify, and write programs for PLCs, understand control loops, industrial networks, and transformers. They will also lead efforts to develop and enhance Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedules and troubleshooting guides, coordinate maintenance efforts across shifts, and utilize the EAM system for documentation. Assisting in the development of spare parts requirements, maintaining good working relationships with various plant personnel, and supporting plant high-performance culture and continuous improvement programs are also key responsibilities. Compliance with safety, environmental, and quality program requirements (HACCP and GMPs) and performing housekeeping duties are expected. All tasks assigned by the supervisor must be performed.
