About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled preventive maintenance, corrective or reactive maintenance when a line is down, and assisting with machine changeovers to accommodate the production schedule. This role also involves adjusting machines to maintain productivity, leading continuous improvement projects, and training new employees on machinery operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. The technician will maintain the organization of spare parts, maintenance workbenches, and tool carts, and support the safety committee to ensure compliance with guidelines and regulations, with a focus on machine safety and proper operation. Additionally, the role assists with production startup and shutdown procedures, completes necessary documentation for maintenance activities and waste disposal, and supports facilities maintenance as needed, all while upholding the company's Core Values and Purpose. The position requires adherence to company safety standards, attendance at scheduled meetings, and accurate timekeeping. Teamwork, stress management, and meeting deadlines are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a production environment repairing and maintaining custom machinery.
  • Excellent understanding of predictive and preventative maintenance processes.
  • Mechanical skills needed to perform maintenance.
  • Proven experience and ability in mechanical, electrical, and electronic maintenance troubleshooting techniques.
  • Able to demonstrate working knowledge of mechanical/electrical principles/concepts.
  • Able to read/comprehend instructions given through electronic/mechanical instruction books, including electric, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams.
  • Familiarity with implementing or maintaining equipment and facilities based on ISO9001 or 13485.
  • Fluently speak, read, and write English.
  • Skilled in time management.
  • Skilled in multi-tasking.
  • Demonstrated customer problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to learn and perform primary functions of positions within the department.
  • Ability to manage stress.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job which include, but are not limited to: walking; bending; pushing; pulling; sitting for extended periods of time at a desk using a computer, phone, and headset; and occasionally lifting and carrying items which may weigh up to 45 pounds.
  • Position spends approximately 100% of time moving about the production area including walking, standing, sitting, squatting, reaching, twisting, and leaning.
  • Vision and hearing must be within or correctable to within normal range.
  • Must work from the corporate office and be able to work on time on a regular basis during regular business hours.
  • Must be available for evening/weekend work as needed.
  • The Team Member is exposed to production equipment at various times.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Responsibilities

  • Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled following proper lock out/tag out procedures.
  • Performs corrective or reactive maintenance when a line is down.
  • Assists with machine changeovers as scheduled.
  • Adjusts machines as necessary to maintain productivity.
  • Leads and supports continuous improvement projects.
  • Supports new employees on the proper training of using, troubleshooting, and maintaining the machinery.
  • Keeps spare parts, maintenance work bench, and tool carts in order, clean, and safe.
  • Supports the safety committee to ensure all guidelines and regulations are followed.
  • Responsible for machine safety and proper operation.
  • Helps during the startup and shutdown procedures in production.
  • Fills out proper documentation for adjustments, preventive or reactive maintenance, and waste disposal management.
  • Assists with facilities maintenance as needed.
  • Attends all scheduled meetings, missing no more than 10% annually.
  • Clocks in and out for work and lunch with no more than 1 error per month.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Follows all OSHA and other safety guidelines.
  • Actively demonstrates teamwork at all times.
  • Manages any stress on the job, including but not limited to meeting deadlines.
  • Adheres to company safety standards at all times.
  • Follows other policies and procedures such that there are no verbal or written warnings during the evaluation period.
