About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their Building & Construction team in York, PA. This role is responsible for the maintenance of fleet vehicles and test equipment, including overhead cranes, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts, as well as buildings and grounds. The Building and Construction division is comprised of industry-leading brands focused on product and project solutions within architecture, engineering, and construction disciplines. Intertek offers risk management, quality assurance, and a variety of testing, inspection, and consulting services to ensure the reliability, safety, and performance of developments, assets, and facilities. They aim to be a Total Quality Assurance Provider to industries worldwide, with a purpose of bringing quality, safety, and sustainability to life.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years directly related working experience or formal training in related trade
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
  • Must possess (or be capable of obtaining) and maintain a DOT medical examiner's certificate to drive a company commercial vehicle, if applicable

Nice To Haves

  • Training in vehicle/construction equipment repair preferred
  • Craft apprenticeship or equivalent production maintenance experience
  • Mechanical skills, including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair
  • Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and techniques used in vehicle, equipment and building repair and maintenance
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders in the English language
  • General understanding of building construction techniques
  • Knowledge of the tools and equipment required to perform job duties, and experience using power and hand tools
  • Knowledge of or desire to learn HVAC/building system maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Follow and enforce all safety requirements and company policies
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment
  • Diagnose, rebuild, and repair vehicles and equipment
  • Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports
  • Execute work orders and work independently
  • Perform other work as required
