About The Position

Upstate Niagara Cooperative, a dairy cooperative owned by local family farms, is seeking a Maintenance Technician. This role is responsible for repairing, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance on high-speed processing/packaging equipment, systems, and utilities within a 24/7 continuous Dairy Food Processing Facility. The technician will be a team member focused on ensuring line efficiency goals are met.

Requirements

Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or one year related mechanical maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 18 years of age.
Minimum of twelfth grade level in math and reading.
Ability to troubleshoot and correct utilizing skills in Industrial Electrical 480V, AC/DC Theory, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Pumps, Mechanical Maintenance, Motors, Digital Electronics, Print Reading, Control Circuits, Power Supplies, Power Distribution, Test Instruments, and Computers.
Must complete Maintenance Skills Evaluation.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot and repair high-speed processing/packaging equipment, systems, and utilities.
Perform preventative maintenance on operating systems.
Install systems and utilities.
Repair and replace defective parts.
Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Repair electrical instrumentation and control equipment.
Utilize skills in Industrial Electrical 480V, AC/DC Theory, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Pumps, Mechanical Maintenance, Motors, Digital Electronics, Print Reading, Control Circuits, Power Supplies, Power Distribution, Test Instruments, and Computers.
Support production requirements and understand operational urgency.
Ensure safe operating practices for self and others.
Work as a team member with Maintenance, Engineering, and Operators, demonstrating good communication skills.
Complete Maintenance Skills Evaluation.
Operate boilers and have ammonia experience (a plus).
