About The Position

Join AKWEL, a family-run, independent group and a first-class automotive equipment and systems manufacturer specializing in fluid management, mechanisms, and structural parts. AKWEL offers state-of-the-art industrial and technological expertise in applying and processing materials (plastics, rubber, metal) and mechatronic integration. This role is for a Maintenance Technician on the 3rd shift, responsible for ensuring the operational readiness and reliability of equipment through preventive and corrective maintenance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Ability to drive Powered Industrial Equipment
  • Ability to read Blue Prints and Schematics
  • Demonstrated Experience repairing Pneumatic & Hydraulic Systems, and Mechanical Drives
  • Ability to diagnose and repair basic electrical / wiring; AC/DC Circuits
  • Demonstrated Ability to lay down a functional weld
  • Knowledge of industrial safety requirements, such as machine guarding, lock out, hot work, confined space, fall protection, etc.
  • Meticulous with above average analytical capacity and diagnostic capabilities
  • Proactive, able to work independently and take initiative
  • Receptive, eager to acquire new professional skills
  • Service-minded, with good verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in desktop applications (Work Order Entry and Documentation via computer)
  • 1 year of maintenance experience
  • Ability to support other shifts, if needed, and occasional weekends to support production or projects as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional 2 year Technical College or Training preferred
  • 3+ years working in an industrial setting preferred
  • Fabrication/build ability a plus

Responsibilities

  • Conducts all operations necessary to ensure the operational readiness and reliability of equipment.
  • Carries out maintenance work (preventive and corrective), in line with the schedule and processes defined by supervisor, respecting safety rules and working conditions.
  • Makes sure that equipment is well maintained and available for the production activity.
  • Enters information on repairs conducted in the computer system and updates machine files.
  • Suggests improvements to resources in order to optimize safety conditions, quality and production costs, Product Design and Industrial Production Process.
  • May be involved in the acceptance phase of new equipment or take part in development, set up and install.
