About The Position

Phillips Manufacturing, an Omaha-based manufacturer with more than 65 years of experience, is hiring a Maintenance Technician for its Umatilla facility. The role is responsible for electrical and mechanical installation, repairs, and upkeep of equipment and facilities. Work is performed independently or as part of a crew. The position is on 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, from 4:30 p.m. to 3:00 a.m., at $25–$30 per hour depending on skills and experience.

Requirements

At least two years of experience in an industrial setting.
Demonstrated electrical skills.
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
Must pass pre-employment drug testing, background screening, and physical capacity screening.

Responsibilities

Receive instructions, prints, and work orders.
Periodically inspect equipment and perform adjustments and repairs as needed.
Dismantle, move, install, and repair machines and related equipment.
Perform scheduled mechanical and electrical maintenance repairs.
Perform emergency or unscheduled mechanical and electrical equipment repairs during production.
Plan work procedures and determine required tools and materials.
Understand and interpret prints and wiring diagrams for complex circuits and equipment.
Use sketches or blueprints to determine wiring or equipment locations and ensure compliance with building and safety codes.
Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures.
Keep the work area clean and orderly.
Create sketches when prints are unavailable.
Follow plant safety rules and regulations and wear proper safety attire.
Maintain regular, dependable, and punctual attendance, including availability for voluntary or mandatory overtime.
