Maintenance Technician - Halifax, NS
About The Position
Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is one of Canada's largest residential real estate investment trusts, owning, operating, and developing a $5.3 billion portfolio of apartments and manufactured home communities. Killam's strategy to drive value and profitability focuses on three priorities: (1) increase earnings from the existing portfolio; (2) expand the portfolio and diversify geographically through accretive acquisitions, targeting newer properties and dispositions of non-core assets; and (3) develop high-quality properties in its core markets. We are currently searching for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team in Halifax, NS. This position will primarily work at our downtown properties. Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
- Ability to work as part of a team, and also under minimal supervision
- Effective, proven skills and experience
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
Nice To Haves
- Renovations experience is considered an asset
- Plumbing, electrical, or HVAC experience is considered an asset
Responsibilities
- Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, molding and hardware
- Maintain, repair and renovate residences
- General maintenance and painting
- Knowledge of plumbing, minor electrical, carpentry, etc.
- Participation in an on-call rotation
- All other duties as required.
