The Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing predictive, preventative, and breakdown maintenance procedures. This role involves selecting, installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical, electrical, process, and support equipment and systems. The technician will support production by troubleshooting and repairing equipment failures, using gauges and test instruments to diagnose malfunctions, and fabricating and installing new equipment. Responsibilities also include welding, repairing, and fabricating parts, inspecting plant equipment daily, conducting inspections of process and packaging systems, and ensuring proper execution before startup. The role utilizes a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for work orders and procedures, captures and communicates equipment deficiency information, and interacts with the maintenance and operations teams for coordinated efforts. Additionally, the technician will assist with parts inventory, requisitioning equipment and supplies, maintaining housekeeping standards, implementing safe work practices, providing off-hours emergency assistance, participating in the HAZMAT team, and working with outside contractors. Continuous learning through industry associations and vendor training is encouraged.
