About The Position

This is a full-time Maintenance Technician position located in the Yorkton Area. The role involves delivering legendary service to internal customers by assisting in the installation, regular repair, and maintenance of all Legacy Co-op facilities and their assets. The technician will collaborate with contracted services and department managers, ensuring adherence to contracts and timelines. A solid understanding of applicable legislation and bylaws is required for the short and long-term maintenance repair program. The position emphasizes developing positive working relationships, modeling a culture of safety, and educating employees on asset protection and preventive measures. Key responsibilities include documenting and prioritizing preventative maintenance, ensuring satisfactory completion of work requests, and assisting with renovation projects.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 certificate.
  • Valid Class 5 license and maintain it throughout employment.
  • Occupational Health and Safety, Level I and II, WHIMIS, CPR, and First Aid or willing to obtain.
  • 2 years’ experience in facility/equipment repair and maintenance administration, implementing preventative and corrective maintenance programs.
  • Must possess/demonstrate accountability, collaboration, and experience dealing with emergencies, problem-solving and the ability to set, prioritize, and adjust work request schedules as required (mandatory).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels across the organization.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to maintain focus while working independently setting goals with measurable outcomes.
  • Honest and trustworthy, results-oriented, and strive to be the best in what you do.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test.

Nice To Haves

  • Journeyperson certifications (electrical and plumbing) or certifications in related trades, and or project management would be an asset.
  • Retail training and experience in areas of asset protection, maintenance repair, and replacement.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in the arranging of installation, regular repair, and maintenance of all Legacy Co-op facilities and their assets.
  • Assisting and working collaboratively with all contracted services and department managers for maintenance in adherence to the contracts, timelines, and repairs required.
  • Reporting any noncompliance or concerns of the contracted services to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Assisting and participating in the short, and long-term maintenance repair program for Legacy Co-op facilities and its assets.
  • Developing and maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with all contracted services, managers, and team members by responding to and assisting with the work requests on Limble in a timely manner.
  • Modeling and facilitating a culture of “safety” at all locations, supporting and working with management and department managers in respect to the coordination/scheduling/training/ and ensuring employees are educated on the expectations regarding asset protection/preventive measures, day-to-day maintenance, and employee safety.
  • Documenting, communicating, and prioritizing current and future preventative maintenance for all assets.
  • Ensuring satisfactory completion of all work requests on Limble.
  • Assisting the Maintenance Manager with the design and construction of renovation projects.
