About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and proper functioning of school buildings, grounds, and equipment. The Maintenance Technician will supervise cleaning staff, perform maintenance and repair operations, manage environmental control systems, and maintain detailed logs and records. The role also involves groundskeeping, promoting positive public relations, and adhering to all relevant regulations and policies.

Requirements

  • Ability to cut grass, prune, and remove trees and shrubs.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with students and employees.
  • Ability to promote good public relations.
  • Ability to maintain a work area for storage and records.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal maintenance regulations.
  • Familiarity with Board of Education policies.
  • Ability to attend training sessions.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Supervising the work of individuals or services employed to assist in cleaning and assuring that standards are met.
  • Inspecting for cleanliness and reporting conditions to the principal.
  • Performing cleaning operations when necessary.
  • Regulating heating, air conditioning, and other environmental control systems for economical usage of fuel.
  • Opening and closing the building as directed by the principal.
  • Performing basic maintenance and repair operations.
  • Maintaining a daily work log and submitting to Coordinator of Operations monthly.
  • Reporting to the principal any maintenance problem requiring special assistance.
  • Establishing and maintaining a file and a log on every item of mechanical equipment located at the school.
  • Performing the required preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of a campus landscape and use plan.
  • Cutting grass, pruning, and removing trees and shrubs as required.
  • Maintaining a proper and professional relationship with students and other employees.
  • Performing duties in a manner that promotes good public relations.
  • Maintaining a work area for storage and for keeping records.
  • Complying with local, state, and federal regulations relative to maintenance regulations.
  • Being familiar with and following Board of Education policies.
  • Promoting good public relations.
  • Attending training sessions as scheduled by Coordinator of Operations.
  • Being regular and punctual in attendance.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of any school system related business.
  • Performing other job-related duties that might be reasonably assigned by the principal or Coordinator of Operation.
