The Mental Health Coordinator's job goal is to promote the maximum development of and support to students through therapeutic services that promote students' academic and social/emotional success. This role involves coordinating the school-based mental health program, developing and facilitating parent programs, providing counseling and intervention services, crisis intervention, engaging students and families, identifying issues that interfere with schooling, examining social issues affecting students, integrating social-emotional learning, assisting with crisis situations, serving as a liaison for community resources, making home visits, consulting with IEP or 504 teams, maintaining documentation, abiding by professional ethics, assisting administrators, and adhering to local board policies and state, federal, and local laws.
