About The Position

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of facility equipment and infrastructure across our United States locations. This position is responsible for performing routine inspections, troubleshooting malfunctions, and executing timely repairs to prevent downtime and maintain safety standards. The ideal candidate will work proactively to identify potential issues before they escalate, contributing to the longevity and reliability of machinery and building systems. Collaboration with other departments is essential to coordinate maintenance activities with minimal disruption to daily operations. Ultimately, this role supports the overall productivity and safety of the workplace by maintaining a well-functioning environment.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of electrical wiring, plumbing, carpentry and painting.
  • Basic automobile maintenance knowledge.
  • Able to do heavy lifting (move furniture, boxes of records, etc.) and operate equipment required for the position (power tools, hand tools, ladders, etc.).
  • Able to take the lead on projects and coordinate with Manager.
  • High School Grad or GED
  • Two years minimum experience with maintenance work that includes electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Computer Literate
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Negative Drug Screening prior to hire and throughout employment.
  • Clear Criminal Background Check throughout employment with Suncoast Center and local checks prior to hire and annually along with DCF Level II prior to hire and as required by DCF.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License Motor Vehicle checks prior to hire and annually with acceptable driving record maintained throughout employment along with reliable vehicle, valid registration, and valid vehicle insurance.(must be in compliance with Florida Laws and Administrative Codes with fingerprinting and determined to be of good moral character).
  • Able to provide official transcripts.
  • All positions require a screening through the Clearinghouse.

  • General contracting/construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain buildings, equipment and grounds.
  • Perform maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Perform inspections of fire extinguishers, first aid kits, smoke alarms, A/C filters.
  • Maintain fleet vehicles.
  • Assist with moving of files and furniture.
  • Perform other duties as needed or required.
