About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role is responsible for keeping mechanical equipment in good condition and working order. You will inspect machines and equipment to locate problems, replace defective parts, and make necessary adjustments to ensure continuing production operation. The position involves using manuals, repair manuals, and parts diagrams to troubleshoot plant and production equipment. You will utilize hand and power tools to remove, install, replace, rebuild, repair, and test parts and equipment. Additionally, you will use shop equipment to fabricate new or replacement parts and perform electrical and/or pneumatic work on production machines as needed. Housekeeping and sanitation tasks are also part of the responsibilities during and at the end of the shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma education or equivalent
  • Ability to read and write English for comprehension of written assembly directions and completion of Production / QA documents
  • Mechanical, electrical and electronics experience including PLC’s preferred
  • Familiar with and ability to use basic shop equipment, electric arc welder, basic hand tools including electric hand tools
  • Familiarity with electronic controls
  • Lift up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • 2 – 3 years vocational tech training in machine maintenance and 3 years as packaging mechanic or 5 years experience as a packaging mechanic preferred
  • Mechanical, electrical and electronics experience including PLC’s
  • Familiar with and ability to use basic shop equipment, electric arc welder, basic hand tools including electric hand tools
  • Familiarity with electronic controls

Responsibilities

  • Keep mechanical equipment in good condition and working order
  • Inspect machines and equipment to locate problems, replace defective parts and make sure necessary adjustments to ensure continuing production operation
  • Use manuals, repair manuals, parts manuals, parts diagrams to troubleshoot plant & production equipment
  • Use hand & power tools to remove, install, replace, re-build, repair, & may test parts/equipment on plant & production equipment
  • Use shop equipment to fabricate new or replacement parts
  • Perform electrical and/or pneumatic work to production machines as needed
  • Perform housekeeping & sanitation tasks during & at the end of shift
