About The Position

A Maintenance Technician is a fully trained technician that independently troubleshoot and perform mechanical repairs on all assigned equipment, including basic hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical drive systems, AC/DC Electrical Systems, Automation (PLC and Instrumentation), and Automation and Mechanical Systems on specific Process equipment. Properly maintain and repair equipment in a fast paced, high production work environment, while prioritizing multiple mechanical/electrical and administrative tasks. Some knowledge of RF-producing equipment and inherent radiation risk, and knowledge of safety precautions when working with DC voltages ranging from 9KV – 12KV.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 + years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment
  • Basic Computer skills required (e.g., Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Capable of training Maintenance Technicians on assigned equipment
  • Possess an advanced understanding of AC/DC Electrical (up to 480VAC and 12KV DC), reading electrical schematics/drawings.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying pushing (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
  • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling and gripping
  • Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, leaning over equipment and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to stand and/or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours in one shift).
  • Ability to read, write and speak English

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or Technical degree
  • Technical/ Trade Certification in: Industrial electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic & mechanical schematics/drawings
  • Work in confined spaces, as required, and adhere to regulations and policies
  • Perform “Hot Work” as necessary to include grinding; trained as required
  • Successfully complete basic First Aid and CPR
  • Understand TPM Theory and Concepts
  • Understand/adhere to Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Working From Heights and all other plant Safety/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements
  • Ability to work in a collaborative environment
  • Considered to be SME in SAP application.

Responsibilities

  • Fully qualified on all equipment in assigned area of responsibility to include operation, troubleshooting, and repair.
  • Independently conduct large scope project work and/or lead PM Pillar projects.
  • Considered Subject Matter Expert (SME) on assigned equipment; able to lead or conduct major overhauls and/or equipment modifications.
  • Supports the Engineering Department in equipment installations.
  • Plans and performs a variety of production related duties requiring an expert degree of troubleshooting knowledge and skill.
  • Lead and mentor a group of in house manufacturing contractors.
