About The Position

AIR Communities is seeking a Maintenance Technician for their 21 Fitzsimons Apartment homes, a luxury 600-unit community located in Aurora, CO. This role utilizes industry-leading technology for a modern approach to maintenance, focusing on turning apartments for new residents and resolving service requests for current residents. The community is situated on the Anschutz Medical Campus, near major hospitals and public transportation. The position involves providing excellent service, completing apartment turns, performing resident-requested repairs and routine maintenance (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances), potentially providing technical direction to other technicians, assisting with vendor management, and performing move-in/move-out inspections. Responsibilities can vary based on skillset, community needs, mechanical systems, and season. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, with an on-call rotation of one week on every three weeks.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in some form of facilities or building environment.
  • Proficient skills in at least two technical trades (plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, 7-day work weeks (depending on community needs and seasonality), and on-call shifts (at least one week a month).
  • A reliable mode of transportation to respond to emergency service requests while on-call after hours.
  • Comfort with physical activity as you must be able and willing to move heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent service to residents and assistance to team members.
  • Follow AIR’s process for completion of basic apartment turns to make the apartment ready for the next resident’s perfect move-in experience.
  • With general direction, complete resident requested repairs and routine maintenance (i.e. troubleshoot and repair/replace plumbing, basic electrical components, HVAC equipment, and appliances, etc.).
  • May provide functional/technical direction and training to other Maintenance Technicians and support the development of technical skills.
  • May assist with managing vendor quality and may perform move-in/move-out inspections.
  • Responsibilities vary based on team member skillset and community needs, mechanical systems, and season.
