About The Position

As a member of the Facility Services team, the Maintenance Technician will work to maintain the safe and efficient operation of building systems, as well as maintain the appearance of the facilities. This role involves light repair and maintenance of building equipment, assisting with inspections, performing preventive maintenance, and operating building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire life safety systems. The technician will also be responsible for filling out daily equipment logs, responding to work orders, and coordinating with tenants and visitors. Compliance with codes and regulations, practicing safe work habits, and maintaining a professional appearance are essential. Team support and coverage as needed are also part of the responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1-year maintenance experience, preferably in a commercial office environment
  • Possess basic competent knowledge on the methods, tools, and equipment used in the commercial building general or light maintenance
  • Must be proficient in the use of a personal computer, handheld communication device
  • Ability to interact with co-workers, tenants, contractors, and the general public in a positive and professional manner
  • Ability to prioritize workload
  • Must possess a current valid driver’s license
  • May require availability to be on-call on weekends, as well as require availability to work after hours for scheduled/emergency maintenance function
  • Will be required to work evenings; holidays and weekends to ensure coverage

Responsibilities

  • Light repair and maintenance of building equipment including but not limited to doors, floors, walls, ceilings, light fixtures, plumbing fixtures, roofs, irrigation, locks and keys, etc.
  • May assist and/or perform inspections, conduct periodic general preventive maintenance, or operate building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire life safety systems
  • Fill out daily equipment logs as directed and perform visual inspections of all building mechanical and life safety equipment to ensure normal operation
  • Respond to, prioritize and complete assigned work orders via the Workspeed work order tracking system
  • Daily coordination and communications with tenants, customers and building visitors
  • Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives as relates to building operations and practice safe work habits
  • Be courteous, neat, clean, and in proper uniform; always representing the Company in a professional, moral, and ethical manner
  • Team support and coverage as needed
