About The Position

This is a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician position at our Processing Plant in Orland, IN. We are a family-owned company with over 30 years of experience raising and processing organic and all-natural chicken. We are vertically integrated, overseeing every process from chick hatching to feed production, and we prioritize sourcing local feed ingredients to minimize our carbon footprint. Requirements

  • Six months to one year of related experience.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Safety conscious.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair refrigeration and utility systems while complying with PSM and RMP guidelines.
  • Lubricate machinery, change parts, or perform other routine machinery maintenance.
  • Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
  • Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
  • Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and advise supervisors of repair needs.
  • Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.
  • Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
  • Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair.
  • Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
  • Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
  • Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
  • Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies to maintain and replenish stock.
  • Collect and discard worn machine parts and other refuse to maintain machinery and work areas.
  • Follow Miller Poultry Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
  • Adhere to all plant rules and GMP's.
  • Follow safety rules.
  • Participate in the first aid program.
  • Pass tests for Confined Space Entry, Hot Work Permit program, pallet jack, forklift, and scissor lift, and LOTO.
  • Follow animal welfare rules.
  • Perform NELS checks.
