About The Position

This is a 2nd shift Maintenance Technician position at our Processing Plant in Orland, IN. We are a family-owned company with over 30 years of experience raising and processing organic and all-natural chicken. We are vertically integrated, overseeing every process from chick hatching to feed production, and we prioritize sourcing local feed ingredients to minimize our carbon footprint. Requirements

Six months to one year of related experience.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Strong attention to detail.
Safety conscious.

Responsibilities

Maintain and repair refrigeration and utility systems while complying with PSM and RMP guidelines.
Lubricate machinery, change parts, or perform other routine machinery maintenance.
Reassemble machines after the completion of repair or maintenance work.
Start machines and observe mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problems.
Inspect or test damaged machine parts, and advise supervisors of repair needs.
Lubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified procedures.
Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specifications.
Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair.
Record production, repair, and machine maintenance information.
Read work orders and specifications to determine machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance.
Collaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipment.
Inventory and requisition machine parts, equipment, and other supplies to maintain and replenish stock.
Collect and discard worn machine parts and other refuse to maintain machinery and work areas.
Follow Miller Poultry Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
Adhere to all plant rules and GMP's.
Follow safety rules.
Participate in the first aid program.
Pass tests for Confined Space Entry, Hot Work Permit program, pallet jack, forklift, and scissor lift, and LOTO.
Follow animal welfare rules.
Perform NELS checks.
