About The Position

Point Real Estate Management is seeking a full time Maintenance Technician to add to our team! This position will be based at our apartment community in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate would have some basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, drywall repair, painting, and HVAC. The Maintenance Technician will work alongside other maintenance team members to perform overall maintenance of the physical property, under the direction of the Property Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of full-time experience in apartment maintenance or a trade that requires basic knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry, painting and HVAC.
  • EPA (refrigerant transition and recovery certification).
  • Own basic set of hand tools.
  • Valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.
  • Available to participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
  • Ability to perform work responsibilities at other locations in the area, as needed.
  • High School diploma or GED

  • Technical certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Complete service requests made by residents within 24 hours.
  • Assist in the distribution of flyers and other material.
  • Perform general maintenance, including but not limited to: replacing filters and cleaning air vents, replacing breezeway light bulbs, performing HVAC repairs, performing light electrical repairs on appliances, fixtures, switches, outlets, and circuits, performing light plumbing work such as clearing stoppages and replacing fittings, replacing broken glass, tile, carpet, screens, garbage disposals, fixtures, appliances, blinds, and locks.
  • Paint interior and exterior surfaces when necessary.
  • Perform carpentry work, such as fitting doors, freeing windows, replacing and building shelves, and sanding and refinishing floors.
  • Assist in custodial work in common areas, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying trash, and cleaning windows.
  • Assist in grounds work when necessary, including picking up litter and “trashing out” vacancies.
  • Maintain pool chemical levels and cleanliness.
  • Repair concrete, masonry, roof, and fencing when required.
  • Refurbish apartments prior to resident occupancy (Make Readies).
  • Have knowledge regarding water and gas meter cutoffs, all apartment and fixture cutoffs, and sewer cleanouts, and post map of same.
  • Make keys, change locks, and assist in maintaining key control and other work as directed.
  • Handle “on call” duties whenever needed.
  • Participate in standby emergency schedule for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
