About The Position

Sumitomo Electric Wiring Systems, Inc. (SEWS) is seeking a Maintenance Technician for their Tooling Mold Maintenance department. This role involves assembling and disassembling molds, performing preventative maintenance, fitting parts, and shaping mold components according to instructions and blueprints. The technician will also be responsible for quality assurance checks, maintaining a clean work area, preparing documentation, and ensuring clear communication with other departments. Adherence to OSHA guidelines and safety rules is paramount. This position is on the B Shift and reports to David Duncan.

Requirements

Two-year Machine Tool Technology degree/Maintenance degree.
1-3 years on the job experience with injection mold maintenance.
Must possess fine motor skills for handling delicate components.
Must be able to perform frequent pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying.
Must possess excellent oral & written communications skills.
Must be willing to learn.
Must be able to work at a fast pace.

Responsibilities

Assemble/disassemble molds following applicable work instructions and blueprints.
Perform overhauls (preventative maintenance); parts fitting and shape mold components in accordance with training guidelines and understand parts mating, position, and function.
Perform quality assurance checks on all fabricated tooling.
Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
Prepare required documentation (i.e. tooling work orders, quality inspection reports, etc.).
Ensure proper verbal/written communication with other departments in regard to mold activities.
Perform all job duties per OSHA guidelines, safety rules, and housekeeping requirements and ensure other maintenance associates follow the proper guidelines, rules, and requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
