About The Position

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for all aspects of building and ground maintenance and upkeep. This includes checking interior and exterior buildings for structural integrity, glass breakage, and damage to doors and enclosures. The role also involves ensuring safety on PPOA common grounds and fence lines, maintaining appropriate signage, and performing necessary repairs. The technician will handle basic preventative and corrective maintenance tasks, keep the grounds clean and attractive, and monitor the upkeep of landscaping daily. Responsibilities include cleaning sidewalks, disposing of trash, and assisting other staff with larger maintenance projects. Specific areas of upkeep and repair include the pool area, pond, gazebo, gatehouse, clubhouse, tennis and pickleball courts, sports fields, PPOA streets and sidewalks, playground, volleyball courts, and dog park. Additionally, the technician will assist the supervisor with administrative tasks such as gathering information for RFPs and may be required to fill in for the supervisor and direct reports.

Requirements

  • CPO Certification (Certified Pool Operator)
  • Knowledge of equipment such as lawnmowers, blowers, and trimmers.
  • Familiarity with a variety of gardening tools.
  • Reliable and physically fit.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance requirements (documentation, safety, required reporting, regulations, etc.).
  • Knowledge of State or local governmental safety requirements.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, detail oriented, and a team player.
  • Ability to interpret and complete verbal and/or written instruction.
  • Knowledge of electrical and plumbing codes and maintenance requirements.
  • Knowledge of OSHA worksite and personal safety requirements.
  • Certified Pool Operator required.
  • A current valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Pond maintenance knowledge is a plus.
  • Direct experience highly considered.

Responsibilities

  • Checking interior and exterior buildings for any structural integrity issues.
  • Checking for Glass breakage.
  • Checking for damage to doors and enclosures.
  • Checking for safety issues in the PPOA common grounds and fence line.
  • Ensuring appropriate signage.
  • Performing repairs as needed.
  • Handling basic preventative and corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Keeping the grounds in a clean and attractive manner.
  • Monitoring the upkeep and maintenance of the landscaping and grounds daily.
  • Cleaning sidewalks and disposing of debris and trash properly.
  • Assisting other staff with larger maintenance repairs or projects.
  • Performing upkeep and repair of buildings and common grounds including the pool area, pond, gazebo, gatehouse, clubhouse, tennis and pickleball courts, baseball, football and soccer ball fields, PPOA streets and sidewalks, playground/sand pit, volleyball courts, and dog park.
  • Assisting the supervisor with administrative tasks such as gathering information for RFPs from concept to completion.
  • Filling in for the supervisor and direct reports.
  • Responsible for all aspects of Building and Ground Maintenance and upkeep.
