The Maintenance Technician position is crucial for ensuring the continuous operation and repair of all equipment and plant systems.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools required for the job
  • Basic computer skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 pounds

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair on all plant equipment, including lubrication, inspection, adjustment, parts replacement, and cleaning, under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager.
  • Execute permanent or temporary repairs on plant equipment to ensure continual production capacity, potentially requiring extended and unscheduled hours.
  • Carry out necessary physical improvements to plant and equipment.
  • Immediately inform the Maintenance Manager and Shift Miller of any issues with plant personnel or equipment that could lead to unsafe conditions, inefficient operations, or reduced production.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties related to plant operation, maintenance, and repair as requested by the Maintenance Manager or Shift Miller.
  • Work different shifts when necessary.
  • Undergo training in Fall Protection, Forklift operation, Confined space entry, Arc flash, and other required areas.
  • Prepare parts for upcoming jobs, including rollermill roll prep, belt making, spouting repairs, shop and parts organization, and Express maintenance data entry.
  • Carry out all duties with human safety as the first priority.
  • Observe and utilize Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in accordance with BRC standards.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation once deemed ready by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Train less experienced employees in maintenance department areas.
