About The Position

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a wide range of interior and exterior facility maintenance tasks. These include routine inspections, repairs, preventative maintenance, minor construction, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the facility grounds. The role requires knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, painting, mechanical, and janitorial practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certifications a plus (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing).
  • Minimum 2 years of maintenance or facilities experience.
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes, methods, and equipment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills (for maintenance logs, email communication, etc.).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor plumbing issues (e.g., clogged drains, leaking faucets).
  • Complete minor electrical work (e.g., replacing light bulbs, fixtures, outlets, and switches).
  • Patch, paint, and perform other basic drywall or carpentry repairs as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of facility grounds, including trash pickup, landscaping support, and snow/ice removal (if applicable).
  • Assemble furniture, install appliances, and hang fixtures as needed.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and document all work performed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and regulatory codes.
  • Monitor inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment; submit requests for replenishment as needed.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors or contractors for specialized repairs when necessary.
  • Set up for events and facility activities (moving tables, chairs, equipment).
  • Conduct monthly facility safety checks (fire extinguishers, emergency exits, etc.).
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe working order.
  • Assist with security systems maintenance (e.g., cameras, access control systems) as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned to maintain operational excellence.
