About The Position

Kent Place School is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician for a day-shift position. The successful candidate will possess strong prior experience in apartment and school campus maintenance. As a maintenance technician, you will, alongside your coworkers, be responsible for troubleshooting service issues on our school campus, including HVAC, general appliance work, carpentry, painting, and plumbing.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in maintenance or facilities management, preferably in a school setting.
• Experience in general building repairs (plumbing, electrical, etc.)
• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24-hour emergency maintenance service and response
• Previous job experience: Property Maintenance, Contractors, Construction workers, hotel management maintenance
• Ability to lift, bend, and pull more than 50 pounds.
• Proficiency with power tools, facility-related equipment, and general carpentry/handyman work (e.g., repairing/replacing door hardware, painting).
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Use of building automation systems to oversee and modify HVAC systems, conduct regular inspections, and perform preventative maintenance
• Wiring fixtures, as well as maintenance/testing of smoke detectors, knowledge of fire alarms, receptacles, switches, light fixtures, fuses, and circuit breakers.
• Replacing plumbing fixtures, baseboard units, and valves; cleaning drains; installing/replacing toilets and sinks.
• Manage all facility-related vendors, addressing escalated issues, and monitor the quality of work performed by contracted cleaning services
• Able to perform all aspects of maintenance, such as plumbing, painting, carpentry, and electrical.
• Preparing units for turnover.
• Perform all event set-ups and break-downs for school functions
• All Other duties as needed or assigned
