About The Position

The Maintenance Technician will perform preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on processing equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, mills, and other machinery. This role involves troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, assisting with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, and maintaining mobile equipment. The technician will inspect equipment, operate various tools and diagnostic equipment, and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities. Compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies is crucial. The role also includes assisting with spare parts inventory management, participating in safety programs, and maintaining a clean work area. This position reports to the Maintenance and Automation Manager.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, automation technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial automation, preferably in a mining, processing, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and human-machine interfaces (HMIs).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing automated systems and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of industrial sensors, actuators, and control devices.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to automation systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic computer proficiency for programming and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on processing equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, mills, and other machinery, according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and system failures, and perform corrective maintenance and repairs in a timely and effective manner.
  • Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of mobile equipment, including loaders, trucks, and rail equipment.
  • Inspect equipment for defects, wear, and damage, and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment, to perform maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment inspections, and repairs.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed in compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Assist in the management of spare parts inventory, ensuring that critical parts are readily available.
  • Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and emergency response drills.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance and Automation Manager.
