About The Position

In this role, you will help sustain Mennel’s tradition of excellence established in 1886 as well as support our food safety programs and mission to reliably deliver superior quality, uniformity, and service. The purpose of this position is to support production, quality and warehouse through maintaining and improving the on-going reliability of the plant equipment and machinery. This position will sustain the Mission and Motto and Food Safety and Quality Statement of the Mennel Milling Company.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to work in high places and complete overhead work.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to use troubleshooting tools to include multi-meter and current meter.
  • Must be able to weld including resistance, MIG and TIG welding.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, procedures, and plans.
  • Ability to write, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information or data in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must use solid judgment when making decisions.
  • Must have ability to quickly recognize and plan for changing work duties and events.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic electrical skills, troubleshooting basic motor control circuits and understanding electrical safety preferred.
  • Familiarity with CMMS and machine shop equipment as well as the ability to accurately design, develop, document and fabricate machine parts.
  • Must have solid interpersonal skills with the ability to listen well, and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all food and personal safety rules and regulations in respect to GMP’s, OSHA, HACCP, the Global Food Safety Initiative, the US FDA Food Safety Modernization Act as stated in the FS&Q Statement, and sanitation guidelines as set forth by the company as listed in Corporate Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) and attend all required training sessions.
  • Maintain the department/facility in an everyday audit ready condition.
  • Responsible to repair and maintain bearings, seals, lubrication systems, machine alignment, machine controls and other complex systems.
  • Responsible to transfer the above knowledge into complex packaging and processing equipment.
  • Responsible to pass along knowledge to operators regarding basic mechanical adjustments and repairs.
  • Accountable to know, understand and report KPI’s.
  • Attend all training sessions as required.
  • Continuously upgrade skills and knowledge to remain current with the latest technology.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or actions to company supervision immediately.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
