About The Position

The Maintenance Technician ensures general maintenance, safety, and compliance of Wise Path facilities. This position will support both Camp Baer (opening Winter 2026) and Westover locations, as needed.

Requirements

  • General maintenance, safety, and compliance of facilities.
  • Support for both Camp Baer and Westover locations.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on buildings, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Inspect facilities regularly for maintenance, safety, and security issues.
  • Complete routine and emergency repairs.
  • Repair doors, windows, locks, flooring, ceilings, walls, and other building components.
  • Perform basic carpentry, painting, drywall, and patching work.
  • Maintain and repair facility furnishings and fixtures.
  • Replace light bulbs, ballasts, switches, outlets, and fixtures.
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs, including sinks, toilets, faucets, drains, and water lines.
  • Perform minor electrical repairs and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain building equipment in proper working order.
  • Respond to facility maintenance requests from staff and residents.
  • Assist with renovation and construction projects.
  • Maintain lawns, landscaping, and outdoor common areas.
  • Mow grass, trim shrubs, prune trees, and weed flower beds.
  • Plant and maintain flowers, trees, and seasonal landscaping.
  • Remove snow and ice from sidewalks, walkways, parking lots, and entrances.
  • Apply salt or de-icing materials during winter weather.
  • Maintain fences, outdoor recreation areas, patios, and walking paths.
  • Remove litter and debris from grounds.
  • Maintain irrigation and drainage systems.
  • Ensure grounds reflect a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for clients.
  • Monitor and maintain HVAC equipment and controls.
  • Coordinate and monitor HVAC service contracts and vendor work.
  • Inspect boilers, water heaters, pumps, generators, and related equipment.
  • Monitor utility usage and identify conservation opportunities.
  • Maintain mechanical rooms in a safe and organized condition.
  • Maintain facility security systems, locks, cameras, alarms, and access controls.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections.
  • Identify and correct environmental hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with fire and life safety standards.
  • Inspect fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, and exit signage.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness and disaster response activities.
  • Serve as on-call maintenance support for facility emergencies.
  • Schedule compliance inspections and maintaining current and accurate records.
  • Assist with deep cleaning and sanitation projects.
  • Maintain cleanliness of maintenance shops, storage areas, and utility rooms.
  • Support infection-control and environmental health practices.
  • Dispose of waste and recyclable materials in accordance with policy.
  • Obtain quotes and coordinate outside contractors.
  • Procure repair services beyond the scope of the position.
  • Monitor vendor performance and completed work.
  • Ensure contractors comply with safety and facility requirements.
  • Coordinate and assist water and sewer treatment vendors for testing, maintenance, and inspections.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Order maintenance materials and replacement parts.
  • Maintain service records and repair logs.
  • Document inspections, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Assist with budgeting for maintenance and facility projects.
