About The Position

Scott Petroleum, Inc. is hiring a Maintenance Technician at its biodiesel refinery and fuel terminal in Greenville, Mississippi. The successful applicant will learn maintenance duties and work with maintenance personnel and outside contractors to support reliable plant operations. Responsibilities include equipment installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, lighting maintenance, workspace upkeep, and assistance with environmental inspections. Other duties related to maintaining buildings, equipment, and grounds may be assigned.

Requirements

Able to work nights on an alternating 7-day schedule with flexible hours.
Completion of one or two years of career education and skills from a technical skills program.
Strong mechanical skills.
Able to attend training that may require travel.
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Commitment to a safe workplace.

Responsibilities

Work with maintenance personnel and outside contractors to install new equipment.
Follow and develop preventive maintenance schedules for equipment.
Diagnose equipment failures and determine corrective actions that minimize process disruption.
Ensure regular greasing and oiling of equipment.
Repair or replace pumps, gearboxes, motors, packing glands or seals, air compressors, cooling towers, chillers, thermal fluid systems, steam boilers, and other key equipment.
Repair or replace indoor and outdoor lighting.
Maintain clean, neat, and orderly workspaces.
Assist with inspections related to environmental laws, including stormwater pollution prevention, spill prevention and countermeasures, and air emissions.
Perform other duties related to maintaining buildings, equipment, and grounds.
