About The Position

The Maintenance Technician performs routine and preventive maintenance to support the safety, functionality, and appearance of apartment communities. The role supports property operations by completing maintenance requests, assisting with upkeep, and preparing vacant units for occupancy. The position is at Skyline Apartments in Washington, DC, and is full time, with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The stated pay range is $30–$31 per hour.

Requirements

• Experience performing general maintenance tasks at multiple locations.
• Ability to work with a diverse population in a residential environment.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Successful completion of a background check.
• Must be legally qualified to work in the U.S. and meet I-9 guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Receive, prioritize, and complete maintenance requests for apartment units, common areas, and building exteriors.
• Perform repairs such as interior and exterior painting, drywall repair, electrical and plumbing work, minor appliance repairs, furniture moving, and assisting with pest control.
• Work with the Community Manager to prepare vacant units for re-rent in a timely and efficient manner.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for equipment, systems, and building infrastructure.
• Understand and routinely monitor fire control, water, and other critical building systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.
• Conduct regular grounds maintenance to maintain curb appeal and a welcoming environment for residents.
• Perform interior and exterior cleaning tasks to maintain a safe, clean, and attractive property.
• Purchase and manage supplies, equipment, and services needed for routine maintenance.
