About The Position

The Maintenance Technician assists the Director of Facilities in the overall maintenance and care of the grounds, buildings, systems and vehicles. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards for emergency and life safety systems, manages communication with contractors, and oversees the maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and housekeeping systems. The technician also plays a key role in ensuring plumbing, electrical, and water systems meet all standards, tracks maintenance needs and costs, and maintains sanitation standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall repairs, and painting.
  • Driver license MUST be in good standing.
  • Must be able to pass a Level 2 background screening.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Director of Facilities with the maintenance and care of the facilities, grounds and vehicles.
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory standards of emergency and life safety systems.
  • Communicates with all hired contractors, reporting any problems directly to the Director of Facilities.
  • Assists the Director of Facilities with ensuring that all maintenance equipment, vehicles and housekeeping systems are in compliance with all applicable laws, rules, guidelines and policies.
  • Assists the Director of Facilities in ensuring that the plumbing, electrical and water systems of the agency’s operated facilities meet agency and regulatory standards at all times.
  • Keeps track of current maintenance needs with the assistance of the Director of Facilities.
  • Tracks relevant information (receipts/records) regarding all repair and maintenance costs.
  • Consistently maintains applicable sanitation standards of the City Health Department and other regulatory agencies at all facilities.
  • Required to be on-call on a rotating schedule and may be required to work occasional overtime.
  • Models appropriate and professional behavior (i.e., dress, habits, personality, tact, etc.).
  • Relates with clients, parents, peers and the general public in a respectful and professional manner in person and phone interaction.
  • Performs other duties that may be assigned.
